Purist

The Kohler Purist bath series, emerged out of reflections on the experience of water - the kind of shapes it forms when in motion and what surfaces it becomes best acclimated as it flows. The hardware in the series imitates the lines and weight of the water as it is decanted, the contours of the tub and sink imitate the shimmering smoothness of a polished stone as water sheets over them. Together, the elements of the series form a solid and clean coherence that retains classic comfort. Purist remembers that the bathroom is a living space, and is no longer a forgotten closet.

The Purist Lav is an award winning variation on the modern infinity pool, yet inspired by old world fountains that litter the European landscape. Taking advantage of the fact that modern bath sinks are rarely filled for to fulfill functional need, the Purist a is flattened and stretched lavatory. In case a basin is desired for soaking delicates and the like, a bottomless vessel placed atop the surface, creates a pool of water and can easily be emptied simply by being lifting off of the base.

The laminar flow spout is designed to be wall-mount and is optionally incorporated into a wall cabinet. The cabinet shelves slide out from the sides of the mirror, so that the front panel retains a clean and unified smoothness, mirroring the surface of the sink. The chrome ring surrounding the faucet is shaped to roll water away from the mirror. When the lav is not in use, its expansive surface visually simplifies the existing counter. Streng finds inspiration in the enduring quality and elegance of the water. Experience a new classic that has altered bathroom design.
